About me
My name is Jan, I’m 28, a mechanical engineer from near Dortmund, Germany, and I’ve been passionate about aviation for as long as I can remember. Plane spotting is my way of getting closer to the aircraft I admire and capturing those moments through photography.I’ve always had a soft spot for Airbus jets, and the A340-600 is my absolute favorite – both for its looks and its uniqueness in aviation history.I mostly spot planes in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Frankfurt. Besides spotting, I enjoy traveling, exploring new airports, and sharing my passion with other enthusiasts around the world.

Camera and lenses
For my spotting I rely on Nikon gear, which gives me the flexibility to cover both wide views and close-ups of aircraft. My current setup:• Nikon Z5 II – main camera body
• Nikon 24-200mm – versatile all-round lens
• Nikon 180-600mm – long-range lens for detailed shots
With this equipment I can capture everything from taxiing aircraft to arrivals and departures, no matter the distance.
